1 week after the release of "Blue Daisy", Oricon give us the results and that's not really good.
Indeed the new single enters at rank #20 with only 3881 units sold. To have such a bad start for a brilliant green's new release we have to go back to 1997 with the single "goodbye and good luck" (2360 units on its 1st week: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Brilliant_Green#Singles
Here are day by day the ranks:
- 29/06: #14
- 30/06: #10
- 01/07: #19
- 02/07: #27
- 03/07 until 09/07: out of top 30
In spite of "Blue Daisy" being a good song, such a result is really worrying for the new duo after the leaving of Ryo ... maybe an unavoidable consequence of this tragic event ?!
Without talking about some artistic choices (The Kinks cover or foreigners on the PV) maybe fans boycott this release for that reason (Ryo please come baaaack -_-); or maybe due to the poor cardboard packaging with only 1 tiny black sheet on both sides for the lyrics ! (well it concerns the CD+DVD edition, but is it the same for the CD edition ? Can someone please tell this ? Thanks.)
Really fans seem to be unhappy with all of this (for example people on 2chan are sometimes insulting Tommy and Shunsaku ...) and future for "the brilliant green" looks very very dark and unsure.Source
